Trends to Try in 2025 — Food, Fashion, Fitness and Fun
It’s 2025! Rather than making the same old resolutions this year, why not head into 2025 with a brand new resolution—the goal to try some of the year’s hottest trends? From food and fashion to fitness and fun, here are some trends to try this year:
Food—According to the National Restaurant Association’s “What’s Hot 2025” culinary forecast, 2025 is going to be a delicious year. Some of the tasty trends the association is highlighting for the year include cold brews, Korean and Vietnamese cuisines, hot honey, hyper local beer and wine, fermented and pickled foods, wellness drinks and creative spritzes (mocktail for Dry January, anyone?).
These trends can be experimented with by purchasing ingredients from a local retailer (the Palm & Pantry is stocked with local beers and wines, for example) or farmers market (honey vendors abound at farmers markets!). Check out a locally owned Korean or Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood or source ingredients from a culinary market and try out some traditional cultural recipes at home.
Fashion—Resolving to revamp those closets this year? Stay in the know by following some fashion influencers and checking out local boutiques (of which Old Town Scottsdale has no shortage). A few key styles to be on the lookout for, according to WhoWhatWear.com include:
Light, romantic pieces—such as delicate floral prints, lace-trimmed slip skirts and midi-length pieces
Modern maximalism—Add a little opulence and drama to the romantic trend and voila, modern maximalism. Think iridescent finishes, tapestry prints and an overall “more is more” attitude.
Powder pink—Whether “Wicked” had anything to do with this, light pink is definitely in the spotlight. From bags to blazers, powder pink is a power color.
Business chic—Take fashion beyond the office this year with a “soft power” approach to all-day wear that is chic and effortless.
Fitness— Year after year, most people add dieting and fitness to their list of resolutions. When it comes to working out, 2025 trends are rooted in technology. In fact, the American College of Sports Medicine named wearable technology, mobile exercise apps, data-driven training technology and exercise programs for older adults among their top 10 ACSM worldwide fitness trends.
People are also looking at trends such as biohacking, holistic fitness, boutique fitness, exercise “snacking” (mini fitness sessions throughout the day) and prioritizing mental health. However, good old fashioned traditional strength training and weight management are also among 2025 fitness “trends.”
Fun— Having fun never goes out of style! Regardless of the trends, the sky’s the limit when it comes to fun things to do in 2025. Consider adding “fun” to the resolution list right along with health and wellness. After all, me-time, self-care and socialization are all top on the mental health prioritization scale. So think of it as killing two birds with one stone! Plan a bucket list trip to a coveted destination, take a cooking class or join a new boutique gym (such as barre, kickboxing, yoga and beyond) with a fitness-focused friend.
