Fun things to do this fall

It’s autumn in the Valley of the Sun and the weather gods are blessing the region with some seasonal
surprises — it actually feels like fall! In honor of two-digit highs, cloudy days and even cool mornings and
evenings, it’s time to ring in the fall season with some fun things to do. Need some inspiration? Look no
further ...

Head to the farmers market — October is the perfect time to break out the totes and head to a local
farmers market. A morning stroll through the rows of local vendors can bring spoils of the season from
pumpkin spice cold brew and scratch-made breads to fresh flowers, local honey, produce, and more. A
farmers market venture is a great way to spend time with friends, support local businesses and discover
some hidden gems.

Peruse a pumpkin patch — Many local farms around the Valley and just outside of town present
opportunities for the whole family to pick their own pumpkins (and other farm-fresh items) while also
join home-town activities such as rides, games and other entertainment. This is a fun way to spend a day
with little ones or simply feel like a kid again.

Go leaf peeping — Head north just for just a few hours and it definitely looks like fall. There is
something so peaceful and picturesque about the fall leaves in hues of red, yellow, orange and brown.
Fields of these stunning trees make for incredible artistic fodder for fall photo backdrops and are the
perfect place to plan a fall picnic.

Go wine tasting — Pop into some local tasting rooms or take a weekend trip to explore some of the
local wineries in throughout Arizona. Northern and southern parts of the state are home to incredible
estates and vineyards with tours or tasting opportunities.

Listen to live music on the patio of a favorite establishment — It’s definitely patio weather, so soak it
up before its gone! And happy hour at a favorite establishment that has live music on the patio is a great
way to catch up with friends, support local restaurants and musicians and enjoy the beautiful fall
weather.

Host fall festivities — Invite a group of friends over for football, crafting, mahjong, book club or just for
drinks and appetizers! There doesn’t have to be an occasion to bring loved ones together to enjoy the
harvest season. When hosting, keep it easy and stress-free. For delicious and unique provisions, stop
into the Sphinx Date Co. Palm & Pantry.
